Aminta Gagnon

Yoga has been a part of Aminta's life for over 5 years. She came to the mat, like a lot of people, because of an injury. Prior to beginning yoga, a passion of hers was and still is running. Aminta has loved running since her early teenage years and have competed in various races such as: 10ks, tough mudder, half marathons, marathons, 3 peak challenge in Yorkshire and half marathon up Snowdon. A few years ago, she injured her knee during a race and was advised to start yoga for flexibility and strength improvement. Her yoga practice has not only helped her continue her passion for running injury free, it has also helped her grow more flexible, stronger and fearless, both on and off the mat.

Tara Clark

Having discovered yoga as a runner, it soon became a foundational part of Tara's life as she explored the magnitude of teachings the practice can give us. In her classes she encourages students to balance between being kind to themselves, but also challenging them to develop further in a playful, safe, and relaxed atmosphere. She is drawn to meditation and everyday mindfulness techniques that can offer us grounding during stress and trauma, as well as in our day-to-day interactions so will be sharing these throughout her sessions at the festival. Tara teaches Vinyasa Flow and Meditation in Letchworth and Baldock.

Manjit Dhillon

Manjit is a registered yoga teacher with 15 years plus experience in the healthcare field.  Exercise has always been a tool she used to try to keep herself physically well, free from disease and, as she loves food, a way to manage her weight.  However, it wasn’t something she was passionate about until she discovered yoga.

Yoga is not only a physical form of exercise to benefit our bodies.  From her own experience, and from the experiences of her clients, she believe that the practise of yoga yields tremendous benefits for the mind as well.  It can provide a reprieve from our modern day, fast paced living and the stressors that comes with it.

She truly believes that whatever you approach yoga looking for, whether it be fitness or to help with a stressful time in life, the practice of yoga will give you that and so much more. Through her classes she hopes to share all the wonderfulness that yoga has brought her in an inclusive and safe environment.

Hannah-C-185.jpg

Hannah Clemmens

My teacher training was in Ashtanga Vinyasa, and I like to bring elements of both to my practice. From ashtanga; determination, strength and patience. From vinyasa; creativity, fluidity and fun. My style of yoga is flowing vinyasa with an emphasis on the breath as a tool to guide you through the class. Expect any class with me to include opportunities to challenge yourself and opportunities to slow down and look inward.

A wise sage once said, “Yoga is too important to take seriously” and I try to invoke this in my classes by holding an informal space where we can have fun playing around and making shapes.

Erin Lawrence-Earey

My love story with yoga began at age 7, a little hippie child with her hippie mum taking hatha classes. A little later down the line, studying dance and drama at college, my OCD and anxiety started to get really challenging to cope with, yet I found each time I stepped onto my mat and flowed I began to feel content, strong and alive. I remember feeling such a warmth and joy each time I lay there in savasana, feeling as if I had finally come back home to myself, my body, my roots. A few years later, I love passing on the teachings of yoga asana, pranyama and philosophy even more than I thought I ever could. My aim is that you can come on to your mat, practice feeling empowered by your wonderful body, practice fluidity and balance between strength and softness, practice authenticity and kindness to yourself, and then be able to take all of that off of the mat and share the living, breathing, alive qualities of yoga into all you do, and everyone you meet.
I qualified as a 200hr vinyasa yoga teacher in 2015 with Wellbeing Warehouse, followed by doing more vinyasa trainings with Dawn Wright at Whitespace and Rachael Moore at Camyoga, creative sequencing with Celest Pereira, pregnancy teacher training with Rachael Moore and yin yoga teacher training with Sarah Lo.

Amber Brown

Hi, I’m Amber, an employee at Chia Naturally Healthy, a plant-based cafe in Hitchin. I am also a Zoology student at the University of Sussex and will be pursuing a career in animal and environmental conservation post-university. 6 years ago I switched to a plant-based diet due to my love for animals however, throughout my degree I have been learning more about the extent to which a plant-based diet benefits the environment and how integrating what we can from this lifestyle carries large weight in the conservation of biodiversity and fundamentally in the survival of our species and our planet.

Salima Dhalla

Salima has been a professional chef for almost a decade, having left a corporate consulting job to turn to her passion for food and cooking into a career. She has done it all - followed the path set out for herinto a high-stress corporate job, burnt out and got crazy, packed it all in to pursue a vocation, burned out in that and ended up with a life she didn’t like and a massive void marked ‘fulfilling and meaningful work’. The only consistency, the only unconditional and unfailing relationship has been the one she has had with food - cooking, eating, sharing it. The pull she felt to follow that dream was actually only the beginning of a journey which has led her to do a huge amount of work on herself and the subconscious conditioning that has held her back, and has led her to focus her work on the overlap between food and spirituality.

You can find Salima running workshops and yoga and food retreats, or working as a retreat / private chef with a focus on natural, plant-based food.
